Footbath in the Canova pattern in brown, maker unknown. Named for Antonio Canova (1757-1822), a famed Venetian neoclassical sculptor, the patten was produced by a number of potteries in pink, black, blue, brown, green, purple, and combinations of two colors. Popular in the American market, potteries who made it include Thomas Mayer, G. Phillips, Goodwins & Harris, and possibly others as many pieces are unmarked. Many examples can be found in the TCC Database of Patterns and Sources.
