“Pittsfield Elm” in Sacramento, CA

A group of TCC members visited the California Department of Parks and Recreation Archaeology Unit laboratory in West Sacramento, California, in 2009. We assisted the state park archaeologists in identifying a wide range of transferware dating throughout the 19th century, all unearthed from various park sites. Just one of the highlights was an almost complete assembled “Winter View of Pittsfield, Mass” (aka “Pittsfield Elm”) plate.
