The valuable Stoke-on-Trent City Archives, which holds the Minton and Spode Archives along with other important archival material about the local pottery industry is about to begin the rather sizeable task of moving to a new location.
Over the course of the next few months the City Archives will be gathering together its four stores of archive material, along with the local studies collections and the contents of the Reading Room itself, and relocating to The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery which is adjacent to the library.
A dedicated microsite: www.stokearchivesismoving.uk has been created to inform interested parties in the Archive Service’s current status – which will include a handy timeline to show how the move should progress and what to expect over the next few months. The microsite will be accompanied by a blog which will feature behind-the-scenes snapshots of work along the way.
Rich with content for ceramic collectors, researchers, authors, curators, and historic archaeologists, the sites are sure to deliver value for their visitors. The exhibition’s curators continue to enhance them and, now, with site application upgrades, including a new magnification feature and upgraded content management capabilities, the TCC and its collaborators are pleased to relaunch these exhibits, all free to a worldwide audience.
