Machin Porcelains and Earthenwares

BookcoverThis new hardback book on Machin is based on many years of research on the Regency period factory that produced porcelains and earthen wares between 1805 and 1838. The book is 180 pages in length and contains over 950 color illustrations. The Introduction covers the history of the family and the factory.  The remainder consists of an illustrated guide to Machin wares including shapes of the various tea wares along with comparisons between Machin shapes and those of competitors of the period.  Also included is a partial reconstruction of the Machin pattern book with over 35% of the known patterns and 100 un-numbered patterns, ending with the known Bat prints used by Machin on tea wares and other pieces.
